PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES FOR CADD – ACADEMIC RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS

ACADEMIC/RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS

In the context of creating and enriching CADD, institutions offering doctoral level studies are encouraged to adhere to the following:

01. Mandate the submission of doctoral dissertations (completed and in progress) to their institution’s Institutional Repository (IR) or to CADD for those that do not have an IR.

02. Collect Doctoral Dissertations (DD) in digital format from an internal entity that they will designate (e.g., Library) and subsequently appoint a contact person to monitor the process on behalf of the Institution regarding CADD.

03. Provide information and guidance to doctoral students on the process of submitting and making available their Doctoral Dissertation through the IR and CADD.

04. Institutions that have an IR ensure the interoperability of their infrastructure with CADD and make provisions for its utilization, as well as the parameterization of their IR with the aim of including dissertations in progress.

05. Ensure the sustainability of CADD (e.g., content enrichment and consistency in their financial obligations). Otherwise, their doctoral work will not be showcased through CADD.

06. Designate a responsible person/service from each Institution to collaborate directly with the CADD administrators. For this purpose, they ensure the sending of updated relevant contact information to the CADD management team.

07. For institutions that do not have an Institutional Repository, the responsible person of the Institution contacts the CADD administrators for guidance on submitting the Doctoral Dissertation’s details directly to CADD.

08. Secure permissions for digital reproduction, use, and dissemination of older dissertations in the IR and/or CADD from copyright holders.

09. Digitize older completed dissertations to enable their inclusion in CADD.
